Ingredients
For the Salmon Patties:
- 1 (14.75 oz) can salmon, drained and flaked (or 2 cups fresh cooked salmon)
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (or almond flour for low-carb option)
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or dill
- 1 tbsp olive oil spray (for air fryer basket)
Optional Dipping Sauces:
- Garlic Lemon Aioli: ¼ cup mayo + 1 tsp lemon juice + 1 small garlic clove, minced
- Tartar Sauce: ¼ cup mayo + 1 tbsp relish + 1 tsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Mixture
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and seasonings.
- Mix until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more breadcrumbs. If too dry, add a teaspoon of mayo or water.
Step 2: Shape the Patties
- Form the mixture into 8 equal patties, about ½ inch thick.
- Place them on a plate and chill for 10-15 minutes to help them hold their shape.
Step 3: Air Fry the Patties
- Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
- Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 2 minutes.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or side dishes.
Notes
✔ Use fresh salmon for a more delicate texture. If using canned, drain it well to avoid excess moisture.
✔ Want extra crispiness? Lightly spray the patties with oil before air frying.
✔ Make them ahead! Store uncooked patties in the fridge for up to 24 hours or freeze for later.
✔ Gluten-free? Use almond flour or crushed gluten-free crackers instead of breadcrumbs.
✔ Storage & Reheating: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 3-4 minutes.
