For the Salmon Patties:

  • 1 (14.75 oz) can salmon, drained and flaked (or 2 cups fresh cooked salmon)
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (or almond flour for low-carb option)
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or dill
  • 1 tbsp olive oil spray (for air fryer basket)

Optional Dipping Sauces:

  • Garlic Lemon Aioli: ¼ cup mayo + 1 tsp lemon juice + 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • Tartar Sauce: ¼ cup mayo + 1 tbsp relish + 1 tsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Mixture

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, egg, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and seasonings.
  2. Mix until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more breadcrumbs. If too dry, add a teaspoon of mayo or water.

Step 2: Shape the Patties

  1. Form the mixture into 8 equal patties, about ½ inch thick.
  2. Place them on a plate and chill for 10-15 minutes to help them hold their shape.

Step 3: Air Fry the Patties

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
  3. Place the patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  4. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 2 minutes.
  2. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce or side dishes.

Notes

Use fresh salmon for a more delicate texture. If using canned, drain it well to avoid excess moisture.
Want extra crispiness? Lightly spray the patties with oil before air frying.
